Idols Come to Coeur d’Alene

“These are the days when the Christian is expected to praise every creed except his own.” ~ G.K. Chesterton in the Illustrated London News, August 11, 1928

Christians of Kootenai County should be dismayed at the appearance of a Hindu demon, Ganesh, statue that is currently found on Sherman ave in Coeur d’Alene. The godless group of individuals that manage the “art” of the city have approved this abomination by Rick Davis to be displayed on Sherman Ave.

Kootenai County Christians are encouraged to protest at the “dedication” on Friday June 10th at 5:30pm.

Here’s a roster of those responsible:

The Coeur d’Alene Arts Commission is appointed to aid the Mayor and the City in formulating and administering public art policy for the City. The Commission consists of twelve members appointed by the Mayor and City Council to serve three-year terms.

On Christianity in America

For all of those ignorant of American history and the American foundation, who pervert the written word of the U.S. Constitution to their own meaning, consider the words of The Constitution’s 55 writers who were: 26 Episcopalian, 11 Presbyterian, 7 Congregationalist, 2 Lutheran, 2 Dutch Reformed, 2 Methodist, 2 Roman Catholic, 2 Quaker and 1 Deist (Dr. Franklin)

Quotes from Framers, Presidents, Justices and Patriots of American History

Noah Webster In the preface of his original Dictionary on April 14, 1828
“No truth is more evident to my mind than that the Christian religion must be the basis of any government intended to secure the rights and privileges of a free people.”

Daniel Webster
“If God and His Word are not known and received, the devil and his works will gain the ascendancy; If the evangelical volume does not reach every hamlet, the pages of a corrupt and licentious literature will; If the power of the Gospel is not felt throughout the length and breadth of this land, anarchy and misrule, degradation and misery, corruption and darkness will reign without mitigation or end.”

Patrick Henry From his Last Will and Testament
“I wish I could leave you my most cherished possession–my faith in Jesus Christ. For with Him you have everything; without Him you have nothing at all.”

Samuel Adams
“The rights of the colonists as Christians…may be best understood by reading and carefully studying the institutes of the Great Law Giver and Head of the Christian Church, which are to be found clearly written and promulgated in the New Testament.”

Benjamin Franklin In a pamphlet for Europeans titled “Information to Those Who Would Remove to America,” 1754
“Bad examples to youth are more rare in America, which must be a comfortable consideration to parents. To this may be truly added, that serious religion, under its various denominations, is not only tolerated, but respected and practised. Atheism is unknown there; infidelity rare and secret; so that persons may live to a great age in that country without having their piety shocked by meeting with either an Atheist or an Infidel.”

Alexander Hamilton On April 16, 1802, Hamilton wrote to James Bayard
“Let an association be formed to be denominated ‘The Christian Constitutional Society,’ its object to be first: The support of Christian religion; second: The support of the United States.”

George Washington His Prayer At Valley Forge
“Almighty and eternal Lord God, the great Creator of heaven and earth, and the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ; look down from heaven in pity and compassion upon me Thy servant, who humbly prorate myself before Thee. Bless O Lord the whole race of mankind, and let the world be filled with the knowledge of Thee and Thy Son, Jesus.”

President John Adams
“The highest story of the American Revolution is this: it connected in one indissoluble bond the principles of civil government with the principles of Christianity.”

President Thomas Jefferson
“I hold the precepts of Jesus as delivered by Himself, to be the most pure, benevolent and sublime which have ever been preached to man…”

Justice Chase, Runkel v Winemiller (1799)
“By our form of government, the Christian religion is the established religion.”

Justice Brewer, Holy Trinity Church v United States (1892)
“Our laws and our institutions must necessarily be based upon and embody the the teachings of the Redeemer of mankind. It is impossible that it should be otherwise; and in this sense and to this extent our civilization and our institutions are emphatically Christian.”

President Andrew Jackson
“The Bible is the Rock on which this Republic rests.”

  1. Carrie says:

Has the Council included Christian Symbols of Art?

  2. KCP says:

@Carrie – I’d be surprised if they have ever approved a symbol of Christian art. Can you imagine the uproar if the city approved a Ten Commandment statue? It would never happen.

Yet the public is outraged that Christians would ever refer to a false god as a “demon”, let alone protest tax money going into placing them on main street for a year.

  3. Eric Seeley says:

What is wrong with Coeur d Alene, where are all the Christians and hopefully the message of this idol in our midst will get out and Christian brothers and sisters will stand in unity and say, enough is enough. Not in my backyard, not with my hard earn tax dollars.

  4. Robert says:

No, this god is not alright with the Christians of North Idaho.
Please, Please join us in writting letters to the editor at CDA press and / or KREM 2 news to let the area know that we are offended. The 10 Commmandments are being removed nation wide, but the city can bring in a Hindu god without out knowlegde or permission and expect that we just let it be?

  5. KCP says:

“We must organize the intellectuals, and use them to make Western Civilization stink. Only then, after they have corrupted all its values and made life base, can we impose the dictatorship of the proletariat.”

Quotes

“No person shall be … deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation.”

Conscription deprives a person of liberty without due process of law. This is clearly prohibited by the 5th amendment. Conscription is an involuntary taking of a person’s labor-which is a form of property-without just compensation as provided by the eminent domain provisions of the 5th amendment.
