A New Sheriff for Kootenai

The long awaited day has come where Rocky Watson will be getting out. Constitutionalists will be pleased. The Kootenai County Constitution Party will be looking for someone to run come 2012. Please contact us if you’re interested in running and would like an interview to be published on our website.

I have been contemplating running for sheriff for a couple years, now. I have no formal law enforcement experience, but I do have a very well-developed, largely statistic-supported political/law enforcement ideology that concurs with the U.S. Constitution and Federalist Papers…

Ben Wolfinger is running for Sheriff, now that Rocky is stepping down… Here are a few links to information I’ve found on your only candidate, at this time.

It will probably be worth your time to research what Real Life “Ministries” are involved in, and then wonder if this is the right person for the job…

  3. Robert Peterson says:

During Watson’s tenure (2000-2012), “the sheriff’s budget grew from $7.8 million to $24.4 million”.
    That’s a 213% increase.
It would be nice to have the crime statistics for that same period, to see if he’s simply wasting money, or if his increasing expenses correspond to lower crime rates.
From what I gathered, from 2009 to 2010, the crime rate increased 9.8%, while the arrest rate only went up 3.7%, and the clearance rate increased from 31.9% to 37.4%.
My interpretation of these numbers is that more budget equals less effectiveness, as well as more crime, if KCSD statistics are to be trusted…

Here is a quote from the KYLY link in my previous post:
“In a written statement to the media, Wolfinger said he’s looking forward to the challenge of becoming the next Sheriff and will continue to improve upon the level of law enforcement service provided by the Sheriff’s Office.”

If that is what Wolfinger calls improvement, then I don’t want to improve…

Quotes

“No person shall be … deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation.”

Conscription deprives a person of liberty without due process of law. This is clearly prohibited by the 5th amendment. Conscription is an involuntary taking of a person’s labor-which is a form of property-without just compensation as provided by the eminent domain provisions of the 5th amendment.
